The biodiesel plant and soybean crush facilities are located in Scribner, NE on 2.5 acres of ground. Crude oil from the soybean processing facility is used in the production of biodiesel. The biodiesel plant has the capability to produce five million gallons of biodiesel per year. Glycerin will be produced as a co-product with biodiesel and will not be a significant income stream for the plant.
Northeast Nebraska Biodiesel (NNB) recently trademarked the soybean meal produced at the onsite crush plant. The meal will be sold under the name: NNB-Soyboost High Protein Meal. The company chose the name from several submissions by our employees. We are excited to have our product reach area livestock producers and dairy farmers.
NNB’s crushing capacity is 1500 bushels of soybeans per day with an output of 30 tons of soybean meal and 1500 gallons of soybean oil. We look to expand on these numbers in the future.
NNB has 13 fulltime employees. Approximately half commute from area towns of Fremont, West Point, Lyons, Clarkson and Arlington, with approximately half living in and around Scribner. A few of our operators have been cross-trained to operate both the biodiesel and crush plants.
